What is ERP?
About Business Backbone
Product Content
Other Features
ERP is integrated software system that is often referred to as the backbone for the entire business. However, these systems are more than just a bony skeleton. These systems have lots of brains (process logic), muscle (business transactions), and heart (business policy). The software communicates (as a nervous system) across business functions.

Also, the medical analogy is appropriate because these systems grow and evolve overtime. For example, ERP systems can get soft and flabby if left unattended. The freshly implemented system is not stable like your legacy system. It can be more like a young adolescent with raging honnones, limited experience, and a contrary disposition. As with an adolescent child, your users might not like your ERP system until it matures.
